Biography :
Anthony White is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience in the Department of Pathology at the University of Melbourne in Australia , and Adjunct Professor of Translational Neurobiology at the A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences, Finland. His research focuses on the molecular pathways that lead to onset and progression of developmental and adult neurodegeneration. His research has led to the development of first-in-class metal-drugs as a new therapeutic approach to neurodegeneration. He has published over 100 original research papers, reviews and book chapters, is Associate Editor for Neurochemistry International and an Editorial Board member on 7 international journals. He co-founded a start-up biotech company (Procypra Therapeutics) that is bringing a novel copper-based metal-drug to clinical trials for motor neuron disease.

Research Interest :
He has a major program of research into new approaches for therapeutic intervention in neurodegenerative diseases using metal-based drugs for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and motor neuron disease
