We are performing basic and applied research on various organic molecules including small ones such as carbon monoxides and macro-ones derived from petroleum and coal to develop their new reactivities. The central goals of our studies are to develop (1) new methods and efficient strategies for the synthesis of organic fine chemicals including pharmaceutical intermediates and p-conjugated functional materials and (2) high-performance catalysts enabling effective functionalization of organic molecules.
