Subsequently she was awarded Alexander von Humboldt fellowship (2004-2006) and worked at the Freie University Berlin. Then she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the ESPCI Paris for one year. Following which she was awarded Marie Curie International incoming fellowship and joined the University of Cambridge, UK (2007-2009). She joined as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research-Kolkata in 2009 and then moved to the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science-Kolkata in 2012.
