Charmy S. Kothari has 10 years of teaching and research experience. She
has 16 researches papers and review articles published in reputed
Indian and International journals. She has presented various posters and
a paper at international, national and state level conferences like
GUJCOST, IPC, APA etc, from which one paper awarded 2nd prize for best
oral presentation in state level conference Supported by GUJCOST in 2004
and She is also recipient of Dr. P. D. Sethi’s research paper
certificate of merit award 2007 for the paper published in J of AOAC
International.
She was awarded first prize for best poster presentation in International conference on Applied Pharmaceutical Analysis, organized by Boston Society in 2014. She has been actively involved in various capacities in organizing National and International Conferences/Workshops.
She received a financial assistance from GUJCOST worth Rs. 40,000/- to organize workshop on Process Spectroscopy & Chromatography in department of Pharmaceutical Analysis. She is life member of APTI & ISTE. She is a recognized Post Graduate and Ph. D. Guide at Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University. She has guided 15 M.Pharm students and currently guiding three Ph.D. Students. She received a minor research grants from Nirma University worth Rs.90,000/- in the year 2013 and GUJCOST worth Rs./- 5,00,000 in the year 2014.
She is reviewer of national & international journal in her research area of interest. The Poster was Co-authored by ANKIT SHAH.
Poster Title was "Simultaneous Estimation of Gabapentin and Nortriptyline HCl in their Combined Dosage form by UV-Spectrophotometric and Spectroflurometric Methods using Opa-Beta-Mercaptoethanol Derivatization.

Her areas of research interest are analytical and bioanalytical method development by QBD approach, validation and stability studies, impurity profiling and Isolation, identification and characterization of marker compounds from plants and formulations.
Abstract
Herbal medicines have a long therapeutics history and are still serving the need. However, the quality control of herbal medicines still remain a challenge because of the complex nature of the phytoconstituents. The aim and objective of the study is identification of biomarker for qualitative and quantitative analysis of polyherbal formulation containing Arjuna, Guggul & Pushkarmoola in combined dosage form. The poly herbal formulation was evaluated for physical parameters, organoleptic parameters and physicochemical parameters as per AYUSH and WHO guidelines. Quantification of constituent was done by developing and validating High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC). The HPTLC method was developed and validated for poly herbal formulation in the methanol extract. HPTLC separation was achieved on precoated silica gel 60F-254 using Toluene : Ethyl Acetate (8:2 v/v) as mobile phase. Polyherbal formulation methanolic extract gave the peak of E and Z guggulsterones at Rf value 0.34 and 0.41, respectively. Which was further confirmed with reference standard. Assay % of E and Z guggulsterones was found to be 81% and 83%, respectively. Spots of E and Z guggulsterones from polyherbal formulation was isolated for identification. Identification was confirmed by mass spectrometry. Hence, E and Z guggulsterones can be used as a biomarker controlling quality of polyherbal formulation containing Arjuna, Guggul & Pushkarmoola in combined dosage form.

Prof. V. R. Iyer, Director, CCE, Nirma University, presided over the function.
Dr. Priti Mehta and Dr. Charmy Kothari were the Coordinators for the workshop.
We had Dr. Arvind Mishra, Senior Vice President, International Regulatory Affairs, Claris Injectables Ltd., Ahmedabad as the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. He spoke about the regulatory compliance which is needed for pharma industry. He also gave an overview of CTD.
We thank the eminent speakers who were present at the event.

She discussed about CTD Vision, Construction and Application in Context of Regulatory Submission. She also focused on requirement and importance of eCTD submission and procedure.
▶ Dr. Vaishali Kothari, DGM, International Regulatory Affairs, Zydus Cadila Healthcare LTD delivered a lecture on CTD, CTD modules in detail and an overview of eCTD.
She also highlighted the Compilation of Safety and Efficacy Data: CTD Module 4 and 5.
▶ Dr. Manish Yadav focused on recent trends of Bio-deficiencies while giving real examples of the same.
▶ Dr. Hemant Kumar Jaju delivered a talk on 'Learning from Past CTD Submissions'. He explained in detail about the queries generated by auditors during CTD evaluation.
The seminar had active participation from Academics and the Pharma Industry and received excellent feedback.
We thank everyone who was present for this exceptionally organized seminar.
