Biography :
Dr. Ramsinghani obtained her Bachelor in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from India. Thereafter, she worked as an analytical chemist in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in India. She went on to obtain her doctoral degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, in 1998, and followed it with postdoctoral research experience at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.
Dr. Ramsinghani is a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), Sigma Xi (the Scientific Research Society), and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
Research Interest :
Her current research interest is in the area of post-translational modification of proteins by poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation and its implication in cancer therapy. She has published in peer-reviewed journals. She has experience in chemical syntheses, protein chemistry and cell biology techniques. Dr. Ramsinghani is actively engaged in research and grant-writing. She was the principal investigator of an NIH funded subproject to develop chemo-potentiating agents to enhance the effects of cancer therapy. She was a co-investigator in an NIH funded sub-project to synthesize thio-ether conjugates of MDMA (Ecstasy) in an attempt to understand how MDMA mediates its neuronal toxicity. She was also a co-investigator on a breast cancer research project.
