Christopher F. J. Barnard has worked for Johnson Matthey for 35 years.
His principal contributions have been to the development of platinum
compounds as the active ingredients in anti-cancer drugs and in
developing catalytic chemistry for synthesis in pharmaceutical
applications. Palladium-based chemistries such as coupling and
carbonylation have been areas of particular interest in recent years.
