John Maina Ndungu
Born in 1974, Maina earned his bachelors degree in chemistry from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, in 1997. While an undergraduate, Maina attained first class honors, and won the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Trustee Fund Prize, the East Africa industries faculty of science outstanding scholar prize, and the East Africa industries chemistry prize. He went on to study organic chemistry at the University of Arizona, earning his Ph.D. in 2004. Maina joined the Sarpong group in the summer of 2004.
